Welcome to Audio Table
Audio Table is a place to play card, tile, dice and board games online with friends and with people from all over the world. Every table has voice chat. Everything can be played by ear, with a screen reader or with the built-in speech, and the table is also drawn on screen like a real table: green felt, your cards or tiles at the bottom, the other players' name plates around the edge.
You can play in your web browser at audiowander.com/audiotable, or with the Audio Table app for Windows, Android and iPhone. Both use the same server, so friends on different devices sit at the same table.

Every game has its own rules page. Open it from the lobby or at the table (Rules, or R in the app).
All games use play chips and points only. They cannot be bought, sold or traded, and they have no money value. Audio Table has no real-money gambling.
Your account
- Choose Register. Pick a name of 3 to 20 letters, numbers or underscores, and a password of at least 8 characters. An e-mail address is optional.
- Turn on "Remember me" if this is your own device. You stay signed in for 30 days. Do not use it on a shared computer. You can sign out of every device at once from Settings.
- Your name is shown to other players. Never share your password; staff will never ask for it.
The lobby
The lobby lists the open tables: the game, the host, who is seated, free seats, and whether the game is waiting or already playing. From here you can:
- Join table: a list of the open tables with the game, the host, the seats, whether it is waiting or playing, and a lock for tables with a password (you are asked for it). At the bottom: Join by table number, for hidden tables.
- Create a table: choose a game, its options and the bot speed. You become the host. Hide table keeps it out of the list (people join by your invite or by the number); Password asks everyone who joins for it.
- Watch any table as a spectator. Spectators never see hidden cards or tiles.
- Chat with everyone in the lobby, see who is online, open the leaderboards and your profile.
At the table
The host can add bots, remove bots, free a seat, change the options and the bot speed, invite players (Invite players in the table menu: friends and online players, or a name), let spectators use voice chat, and start the game when enough seats are filled.
An invite appears as a short message with Join and Not now (in the browser press J to join).
Lounges
A lounge is a table without a game, only for talking (voice and text chat), with a topic. Lounges have their own list in the lobby; join one to chat, or create one with a topic. The owner and co-hosts can change the topic or start a game right there (Start a game here); a lounge closes when the last person leaves.
Co-hosts and owners
The table owner can make people at the table co-hosts. Co-hosts can do everything the host can: add and remove bots, start, change the options and the bot speed, set the table music, invite to a hidden table, and remove someone from the table for 10 minutes. The owner can also hand the table over to someone else. When the owner leaves, a co-host becomes the owner (otherwise a seated player).
Table music
The owner or a co-host can set a music link for the table: a YouTube link or any https audio stream (Set table music in the table menu). Everyone decides for themselves whether to listen: Control+P turns the music on or off for you (it works while typing too), and Control+Shift+Up and Down (or a slider in the browser Settings) set the music volume, separate from the game sounds. Everyone hears the same moment of the song. The music stops for you when you leave the table.
My tables
The owner can save a table (Save this table): game, options, hidden or password, co-hosts, bot speed, topic and music link. Open it again later from My tables in the lobby; up to 20 saved tables. If the server restarts, every open table, seat and running game is saved and restored; sign in again and you are back at your table, and the game goes on.
Pace, results and the next hand
- Bot speed (a table option, host): fast, normal (the default) or slow. Bots also pause between the steps of a long turn.
- Every move is animated on screen: cards and tiles fly, dice tumble and show their number, pawns walk square by square, mangala stones drop one by one. In the browser, Settings has Animation speed (normal, slow, fast) and an Animations switch.
- When a game ends, the table stops and shows the result: "You won!", "You lost", "Name won" or "Draw", with places and scores and a victory or a sad sound. Nothing starts by itself: press Play again (the host starts the new game).
- In games with several hands (Okey score game, 101 Okey, Batak, King, Hearts and others) a hand result appears after every hand; press Next hand (the host, or everyone presses Ready).
Every table is built the same way, whatever the game:
- Areas: your hand or rack, the middle of the table (pile, trick, board, dice), and the other players (hidden hands only say how many cards they hold).
- Items: the cards, tiles, dice, pieces, pits or squares inside an area.
- Actions: what you can do right now, for example Play, Draw, Roll, Pass or Bid.
- Status: one short line that says whose turn it is and what to do. It is spoken whenever it changes.
Everything that happens is announced, has its own sound, and goes into the message buffers, so you can read it again later.
Playing in the browser with a keyboard
At the table
- Left and Right arrows: move through the items of an area. Up and Down arrows: move between areas. Home, End, Page Up and Page Down jump to the first and last item or area. On boards of squares (chess, Sea Battle, Target Four) the arrows move by row and column.
- Enter: the main action on the focused item, for example play the card.
- Space: the list of all actions you can take now. Number keys 1 to 9: take that action directly.
- X: mark or unmark an item, for actions that take several items. Escape: clear the selection.
- S: the game status. W: whose turn it is and the time left. I: scores and information. R: repeat the last announcement.
- C: chat box. H: history. P: people. F: friends. B: back to the board. V: voice chat on or off. Hold the key left of 1: push to talk. M: sounds on or off. J: join the table you were just invited to. - Shift+[ and Shift+]: switch buffer. Ctrl+[ and Ctrl+]: first and last message of the buffer. Alt+[ and Alt+]: the same while typing in a text box. F2: copy the current message.
- These keys use the physical key positions, so they also work on a Turkish keyboard (the two keys right of P).
Chat box
- Enter sends. Up and Down bring back the lines you sent (your draft is kept). Escape goes back to the board.
Settings in the browser
- Speech detail: Normal, or Short (no counts or positions). Read other players' moves aloud: on or off (off means their moves only make a sound and go into the buffer). Read chat aloud, sound volume, voice chat volume, speech rate and voice, microphone and microphone mode.
- Test sound: plays a short sound so you can check your volume.
- On an iPhone or iPad, sound starts after your first tap. If the page says "Tap anywhere to enable sound", tap once and you will hear "Sound on". The ring/silent switch does not mute the game.
Playing in the app (Windows, Android, iPhone)
At the table
- Up and Down arrows, or Tab and Shift+Tab: move between areas. Left and Right: items. Home and End: first and last item. On boards of squares the arrows move by row and column.

Message buffers, in every screen
- Comma and period: previous and next buffer (all, table, chat, private messages, system). Shift with comma or period: first and last buffer.
- [ and ]: previous and next message. Shift with a bracket: oldest and newest message.
- Backslash, Shift+C or Shift+A: copy the message. Shift+Backslash: mute or unmute that buffer (it still collects messages). H: the buffer as a list.
Text fields (they work like the ones in Life in Nature)
- Left and Right read the character under the cursor; Control with an arrow moves and reads by word; Home and End.
- Shift with an arrow, Home or End selects and says what was selected; Control+A selects everything.
- Control+C, Control+X and Control+V copy, cut and paste; Backspace and Delete say what was removed; Control+Backspace and Control+Delete delete a word; Control+Z undoes and Control+Y redoes.
- F2: typed characters spoken or not. Shift+F2: words spoken when you finish them. F3: capital letters announced. F4: read the whole text.

Touch screens
- One finger: swipe left or right through items, up or down to change area, double tap for Enter, long press for the action list, triple tap to open or close the microphone.
- Two fingers: double tap for Escape, tap for status, swipe up for chat, down for history, left for players, right for information.
- Three fingers: tap for scores, double tap to turn voice chat on or off.
In the browser on a phone, use your screen reader gestures as usual: everything is a normal button, list or grid cell.
Turns and the timer
When it is your turn you hear the "your turn" sound and the status tells you what to do. Each turn has a time limit; a ticking sound and a warning play before it runs out. If time runs out, a simple move is made for you. After three timeouts in one game, a bot takes your seat so the others can keep playing. (In Tombala, where everybody marks at the same time, the game simply marks for you and never gives your seat away.)
If you lose your connection or leave during a game, a bot plays for you. Come back within 2 minutes and you can take your seat back.
Keyboard shortcuts
These shortcuts work in every screen, also while you type in a text box (they never take the editing keys Control+A, C, V, X, Z or Y). The one-letter keys for playing are listed above under "At the table".
In the browser (F1 or Control+H shows every key; Control+K opens a list of all commands):
- Control+K or Alt+Shift+K: all commands. Control+H or F1: help. F5: settings.

- Some browsers keep Control+N and Control+T for themselves; then use the Alt+Shift key.

- F1: all keys. F5: settings. Control+H: the player guide. Control+R: the rules of the game at your table (or of the game you are on in a list).
- Control+F: friends. Control+M: messages. Control+J: tables. Control+N: create a table. Control+U: my profile. Control+G: my progress. Control+T: tournaments. Control+O: lounges. Control+B: my tables. F3 outside a text field: message the staff.
- Control+L: leave the table (you are asked first; "No, stay" is the first choice). Control+P: table music; Control+Shift+Up and Down: music volume. Control+Shift+S: staff options. Control alone: stop speech.
- A screen opened from a table goes back to the table with Escape or Back. Before you sign in, only F1, F5, Control+H and Control+R work.
Messages to offline players
You can write a private message to any player, also when they are not signed in. It is kept and delivered when they sign in: you hear that it is stored, and later that they received it. When you sign in, you hear how many private messages arrived while you were away and from whom. Messages (Control+M, or the Messages button) lists your conversations, newest first, with the number of new messages; open one to read it and reply. You can leave up to 20 messages for offline players per hour, and one player can have up to 50 unread messages waiting. Private messages are deleted after 90 days, and players you blocked cannot write to you.
Messages to the staff
Need help, want to report a player or found a bug? Press F3 (in the browser and in the app), or choose Message the staff in the menu or on the touch screen. Choose a topic (Help, Report a player, Bug or Other), write your message and send it. When you are at a table, its number is attached so the staff can look at it; you can switch that off. For a report you can add the player's name. The staff answer with a private message, also when you are offline: you get it when you sign in. My messages to the staff shows what you sent and the answers. You can send up to 3 messages in 10 minutes and 10 a day, and up to 5 can wait for an answer at the same time.
Bots
Bots fill empty seats so you can always play, even alone. Each bot has a level:
- Easy -- plays any legal move. Good for learning.
- Normal -- plays sensibly.
- Hard -- plays a strong game.
Bots wait a moment before each move so the game is easy to follow by ear.
Voice chat
Every table has its own voice channel. Turn your voice on to talk and hear the others at your table; turn it off whenever you like.
- Push to talk sends your voice only while you hold the talk key (the key left of 1, or F4 in the app) or the Talk button. Open microphone sends whenever you speak (T in the app).
- You can mute any single player just for yourself, and block a player completely (no voice, chat or private messages from them).
- You hear who is speaking, and the screen shows a speaking light next to their name. L in the app tells you who is speaking.
- Spectators can only talk if the host allows it.
- Headphones stop the others from hearing themselves through your microphone.
- Voice is passed live to the other people at your table and is never recorded. Muted or banned players cannot be heard.
Voice chat in a browser needs a recent version of Chrome, Edge, Safari or Firefox. If yours cannot do it, the page tells you, and everything else still works.
Text chat, private messages and commands
You can chat at your table or in the lobby, and send a private message to any player. Messages can be up to 300 characters. Links are removed. Please read the Rules before you chat.
Chat commands start with a slash:
- /pm name text -- a private message (also /msg or /w).
- /help -- the commands you can use, in your language.
Staff members have more commands and a staff-only chat (T in the browser, Shift+Slash in the app); see the Staff guide.
Progress, quests and tournaments
Everything here is play chips, points and looks only -- nothing can be bought.
- Levels: you earn XP for every finished game with other people (more for winning), and you have a level for your account and for each game. A bright arpeggio plays when you level up.
- Daily reward: the first sign-in of the day gives play chips; signing in on following days builds a streak with bigger rewards and items on days 3, 7, 14 and 30. A missed day starts the streak again.
- Daily quests: three small goals a day, for example "win 2 Okey hands", with XP and chips as a reward.
- Achievements: first win in each game, perfect games, many wins and games, levels, streaks, friends, lounges, tournament wins and more.
- Weekly ranking: most XP and most wins of the week, with last week's winners kept.
- Looks: card backs, table felts, photo frames, name colours and titles that you unlock by playing; choose which to use.
- Tournaments: scheduled knockout or Swiss tournaments for popular games (Okey, Tavla, Batak, Hearts, Chess). Sign up, and when it starts your tables are created and you are seated automatically.
- Play now: pick a game and you are seated at an open table, or a new table with bots is started for you.
In the browser press G (or the My progress button) for all of this; in the app choose My progress in the lobby, and Play now in the game options menu.
Friends, profiles and messages
- Friends: send a request by name or from a profile; the other player accepts or declines. Your friends list shows who is online and at which table; from it you can send a message, join or watch their table, or invite them to yours. A soft chime tells you when a friend comes online, and when you sign in you hear how many friend requests are waiting. You can have up to 200 friends. Friends tab in the browser (F), Friends in the lobby menu of the app.
- Profiles: open any name (on a name plate, in the people list, in chat, in your friends) to see the photo, the "About me" text, online status and table, and the statistics of every game. From a profile: Send message, Add or Remove friend, Invite to my table, Join their table, Block, Report.
- Your own profile: Change photo (in the browser: choose a picture or take one; it is cut to a square and made small automatically), Remove photo, and About me (up to 300 characters, the same filter as chat).
- Private conversations: in the browser each person has a conversation window with the whole conversation; in the app private messages go to the private messages buffer.
Reporting and blocking
Open a player's name and choose Report, write what happened, and send it. Staff see the report with the time and the table. Choose Block to stop all voice, chat and private messages from that player; your block list is kept in your account.
Ratings and statistics
Each game keeps your games played, wins and a rating. The rating changes only in games with at least one other person; games against bots alone do not change it. Leaderboards show the best players of every game.
Sounds
Each kind of event has its own sound, so you can follow the game without listening to every word:
- A rising marimba: it is your turn. Fast beeps: your time is running out.
- Card, tile, dice, chip and piece sounds: what was played, drawn, rolled or moved.
- A rising pluck: someone joined. A falling pluck: someone left. Two soft blips: a bot sat down.
- A high note: a chat message. Three quick notes: a private message to you.
- A bright fanfare: you won. A soft falling tune: you lost. A neutral tune: a draw.
- A double low buzz: that move is not allowed.
- End of a game: a fanfare with applause when you win, a soft sad tune when you lose; shorter versions at the end of a hand.
- A soft glassy chime: a friend came online.
- A bright arpeggio with sparkle: level up. A trophy chime: an achievement. A short ding: a quest is done. Coins and a chime: your daily reward. A horn call: a tournament starts.
- A soft click up or down: table music on or off. A soft door: someone entered the lounge.
- Some games have their own sounds, for example engines, brakes and fanfares in 1000 Miles, the number bell and çinko fanfare in Tombala, and the desk bell in Bunco.
You can change the volume in Settings.
Languages
Audio Table speaks English, Turkish, Arabic, Spanish, Portuguese and Hindi. Choose your language in Settings; the game texts, rules and announcements follow it.
