Audio Table ยท Play
Audio Table rules
Audio Table is a friendly place to play. These rules apply in every game, in voice and text chat, in private messages, in names and in reports. By playing you agree to them.
Be kind
- Treat everyone with respect. No insults, harassment, threats, hate speech or discrimination for any reason, including disability, religion, nationality, language, gender or age.
- No sexual content, and nothing that is not fit for a family table.
- Losing is part of the game. Be a good winner and a good loser.
Chat
- No spam or flooding: do not repeat the same message, write in capitals only, or paste long text.
- No advertising of other games, servers or services, and no begging.
- Do not share anyone's private information: real names, addresses, phone numbers, photos or accounts. Do not share your own with strangers either.
- Keep the lobby chat in a language most people there can follow; use private messages or a table for other languages.
- Never ask anyone for their password. Staff will never ask for yours.
Voice chat
- Voice chat is part of the table. Turn it on only if you are ready to talk with the people at that table.
- Use push to talk, or headphones with an open microphone, so the table does not hear echo, music, a TV or other people in your room.
- No shouting, noise, music, sound boards or voice changers used to annoy others. Do not talk over people on purpose.
- Do not record other players or put their voices anywhere else without their permission. Audio Table itself never records voice.
- Do not use voice to tell other players your hidden cards, tiles or dice, or anyone else's.
- Spectators may talk only when the host allows it; the host may switch it off at any time.
- If someone bothers you, mute them just for yourself, or block them, and report them if they break these rules.
Fair play
- One person, one account at a table. Do not use a second account to play against yourself, to help a friend or to raise your rating.
- No teamwork with other players in games that are not team games. Do not tell anyone your hidden cards, tiles or dice during a game, by voice, chat or any other way.
- Spectators must not tell players about other players' hands.
- No cheating software, modified clients or automated play. Bots belong only to the bots the game itself offers.
- If you find a bug that gives an advantage, report it and do not use it.
- Do not stall: play your turn in a reasonable time and do not leave games on purpose to avoid a loss.
Chips and points
Chips and points are for play only. They cannot be bought, sold, traded or exchanged for anything outside the game. Do not offer or ask for money, goods or accounts.
Profiles, friends and invites
- Your profile photo and your About me text are seen by everyone. No offensive, sexual or violent pictures, no pictures of other people without their permission, no private information (addresses, phone numbers, documents), no advertising, and do not pretend to be staff. Staff may remove a photo and treat an About me text like chat.
- Send friend requests and table invites only to people who want them. Repeated requests or invites after someone said no count as harassment.
- Do not use private messages or the friends list to get around a mute, a block or a ban.
Names
Names must not be offensive, must not pretend to be staff or another player, and must not advertise anything. Staff may ask you to change a name or may close the account.
Hosting a table
The host may add or remove bots, free seats and set the options. Use these powers fairly: do not remove people just to annoy them. A private table with a password is fine for playing with friends.
Owners and co-hosts: use the co-host powers (removing someone for 10 minutes, options, music) fairly, never to bully. Table music and lounge topics follow the chat rules: no hate, no sexual content, no advertising, nothing illegal. Lounges are for talking; the voice chat rules apply there too. Do not farm progress: playing against a second account or trading wins to gain XP, quests or ranking breaks the fair play rules.
Staff
Staff keep Audio Table safe and friendly. The roles are:
- Helper -- answers questions, may warn players and mute chat and voice for up to 60 minutes.
- Moderator -- may also remove a player from a table, mute for up to one day, ban for up to 7 days and close a table.
- Admin -- may also mute or ban for longer, also permanently, lift bans, make announcements and choose helpers and moderators.
- Owner -- Smith, who runs Audio Table.
Follow staff instructions. If you think a staff member was wrong, stay polite, and ask a higher staff member to look at it (see Appeals). Every staff action is logged with a reason.
Reporting
If someone breaks these rules, open their name and choose Report, and write what happened, when, and at which table. One clear report is enough; repeated reports do not make it faster. You can also mute any player's voice just for yourself, or block them: then you get no voice, chat or private messages from them at all.
False reports made to harm someone are themselves against the rules.
What happens if you break the rules
Depending on how serious it is and whether it happened before:
- A warning.
- A chat and voice mute for a time.
- Removal from a table.
- A temporary ban.
- A permanent ban for very serious or repeated cases.
Staff may skip steps for serious cases such as threats, hate speech, cheating or sharing private information. Using another account to get around a mute or a ban makes the ban longer.
Appeals
To ask for a decision to be looked at again, contact an admin or the owner calmly, give your name, what happened and why you think it should change. Admins and the owner can see the staff log. The decision of the owner is final.
These rules can change; the current version is always available from Help in the game.
